EIM Sports For All Workshops

In order to further the Exercise is Medicine message we are delighted to bring you Sports for All during the month of October, where we have called on expert coaches in their respective sports to provide an opportunity to try the sport but also improve your health and fitness by doing it. Sports include MMA, Baseball, Volleyball, Football, Tennis and Basketball. 

EIM Sports For All Workshops

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)  (Wed 3rd Oct 2018)

The sport of Mixed martial arts, also known as MMA, has become more and more popular in recent years in Hong Kong. This combat sport incorporates a variety of martial arts styles under one set of rules, allowing striking, wrestling and ground fighting. All levels are welcome to join and learn the very basics of MMA, as we go over some drills for striking, takedowns and finishing holds on the ground.

Venue: Dance Studio, Flora Ho Sports Centre

Football (Wed 10th Oct 2018)

We are excited to have the Brazilian Football Academy to help us train our football skills. Their aim is to shift the emphasis from winning to long term player development by celebrating spirit, sportsmanship, skill and good character.

Venue: Pitch 2, Stanley Ho Sports Centre

Date & Time: Wednesday 10th October, 6:30pm-8:00pm (Beginner and Advanced Player groups are available)

Baseball (Sat 13th Oct 2018)

Baseball combines skills, team play, physical and mental talents, making the game complex and interesting. Join our free workshop to learn about the game and practice basic fundamentals skills like throwing, catching, base running and batting.

Volleyball (Sat 13th Oct 2018)

Volleyball is a fun sport that can be played inside sports hall, at the beach or on grass. Playing volleyball will improve your jump ability, strength, coordination and aerobic fitness. Come join our free-for-all volleyball workshop to learn about the game and basic techniques.

Venue: Multi-sports Hall, Flora Ho Sports Centre

Basketball (Sat 27th Oct 2018)

Ever wonder how Michael Jordan and Lebron James do it? Come and join our basketball workshop run by players from Winling HK Division 1 Basketball League.

Basketball requires strength, power, speed, agility and aerobic fitness. Come join our free-for-all basketball workshop to learn about the game and basic techniques such as passing, shooting and dribbling. We will also run through some fitness exercises that will help to improve your game as well as prevent injuries.

Tennis (Sat 27th Oct 2018)

Tennis requires endurance, agility, strength, speed, balance and coordination. This session is offered to those novice players that would like to learn the basic techniques of tennis. Grips, forehand and backhand strokes will be covered.

Venue: Flora Ho Sports Centre

Date & Time: Saturday 27th October, 11am-12pm (Class 1); 12pm-1pm (Class 2)
