Exercise is Medicine Live Workouts

No matter if you are stuck in the office or busy with your studies, there is always time for a quick session of exercise. There is no need to be concerned about venturing outside to join our exercise classes, because we will organise a range of live workout sessions for you that will be streamed on our EIMatHKU Facebook page during the Exercise is Medicine Month. So come and join our 20 minutes live workout sessions to boost your energy levels and improve health.

Exercises to Improve Posture

Exercise Specialist: Kenneth Liang

Having good posture helps you to develop the necessary strength, flexibility, and balance to handle different daily tasks with ease. A balanced musculature puts less stress on the joint and hence leads to less joint/muscle discomfort. In this 20min session, we will demonstrate non-gym based exercises for better posture. Please prepare a yoga mat and towel for the workout.

Home Training with Resistance Bands

Exercise Specialist: Kevin Tang & Dora Lau

Resistance bands are portable, yet can be used for a variety of different workouts. Resistance band exercises help build muscular strength and endurance by targeting major muscles as well as smaller stabilizing muscles that improves muscle balance and stability. They are also useful for muscle activation and increasing your mobility and flexibility. We will introduce you to some simple banded warm-up exercises and stretches, and a full body-strengthening workout.

Strength Training with a Chair

Join us for a strength training routine using only a chair. This workout is especially suitable for those with a sedentary lifestyle, working long hours seated behind a desk at work or at home. We will guide you through a routine of bodyweight and chair assisted exercises that work on improving muscle strength and conditioning. Give it a try, all you need is just a chair!
