Another great EIM month in May 2018!
That brings to an end another Exercise is Medicine Month. On behalf of the Centre of Sports and Exercise, we would like to express our gratitude to all the participants who supported the activities of the EIM Month in May 2018. We hope that the activities and seminars provided are able to motivate you in engaging in regular physical activity, as well as increasing your awareness of its health-related benefits.
This year the Centre for Sports and Exercise collaborated with VP(Global) in challenging the HKU staff, students and alumni in walking “Around the World” which is an equivalent of 66,000,000 steps throughout the entire month of May 2018. Never had we thought that we would reach a surprising grand total of 463,447,412 steps; thanks to the 1500 participants from all 18 countries!
As part of the Exercise is Medicine on Campus initiative, our goal is to promote physical activity as a vital sign of health in HKU. Together with our collaborators, we work towards improving health and wellness on campus through knowledge exchange and physical activities. We are very keen to encourage our HKU community to develop an active lifestyle and maintain a higher level quality of life.
None of this would have been possible without your participation, effort and most importantly your enthusiasm. If you wish to view the photos taken throughout the event, please visit our Facebook page
