EIM Month Photo Contest - Terms & Conditions

For participants 18 years and over: By submitting a photo to the EIM Month Photo Contest, I certify I have read and accept the terms and conditions for participation in this event.

For participants under 18 years:  By submitting a photo to the EIM Photo Contest, I certify I am the parent/ guardian of this participant who is under 18 years and I give my consent for them to participate in this Contest.   I accept the terms and conditions for participation in this event on behalf of the entrant.

Terms & Conditions

  1. All participants must be part of The University of Hong Kong community in order to compete in winning the prizes of the event. Only entries with a valid HKU email account are considered participants who are part of The University of Hong Kong community.

  2. The submission of photos for EIM on Campus Moment will be accepted from 1st of May 2021 until 31st of May 2021, for the Orienteering at Lung Fu Shan will be 22nd-23rd of May 2021.

  3. Participants who have uploaded a photo of their participating events will be automatically entered into the Photo Contest to win our prizes. Judges will evaluate all valid entries and the 20 entries that receive the highest score from the judges will be named potential Winners at each category. All judging decisions are final. Scores will not be provided.

  4. Each entry will be reviewed, by a judge or panel of judges appointed The Centre for Sports and Exercise and/or Lung Fu Shan Environmental Education Centre, based on the clear relationship between the submission and the following criteria:

    • Inspirational Power (25%)

    • Adherence to EIM at HKU Theme (25%)

    • Entertainment Quality (25%)

    • Overall Impression (25%)

  5. Each participant / participating team can have multiple entries to enter the photo contest, yet each participant / participating team can only claim one prize. Prizes are also subject to availability with no cash alternatives.

  6. By entering the Photo Contest, each participant agrees that their submission conforms to the Submission Guidelines and Content Restrictions as defined below and that The Centre for Sports and exercise, in its sole discretion, may remove any Submission and disqualify a participant from the Photo Contest if it believes, in its sole discretion, that the participant’s Submission fails to conform to the Guidelines and Restrictions.

  7. Photos entering the final contest will be posted on HKUEIM Facebook and Instagram. Photos with highest vote count within voting period will claim the prize. Please refer to Facebook and Instagram posts for polling rules and regulation. Participants consent to the use of their name, image, photographs, video and comments in any publications and marketing in relation to this event by event organisers.

  8. Winners will be contacted by The Centre for Sports and Exercise in June or in the days following through the email address provided with the Submission entry.

  9. CSE is not liable for any damage, loss or disappointment suffered by you for taking part or not being able to take part in this Contest.

  10. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, we may alter, amend or cancel the Contest without prior notice. CSE reserves the right to change these terms at any time.

  11. Employees and family of CSE Health & Fitness and will not be eligible to receive any prize from this event.

 

Submission Guidelines

  • All photos must be original, meaning you may only enter photographs that you took and for which you own the copyright.

  • Photo submissions may be in horizontal or portrait format.

  • Photos must be at least 500 KB and at least 1024 pixels on the long edge.

  • Photos must be submitted in JPEG, GIF, PNG, or TIFF format. Non-digital formats are not accepted.

  • The Centre for Sports and Exercise reserves the right to crop photos.

  • Digitally manipulating photos (i.e. cloning, compositing, etc.) should be kept to a minimum. Your photograph must authentically depict the setting as you saw when you took the photograph. HDR, panoramic and stitched photos are permitted.

  • The Centre for Sports and Exercise reserves the right to make minor alterations to photo titles and descriptions for the purpose of correcting grammatical and spelling mistakes, etc.

 

Content Restrictions

  • The Submission must not contain material that violates or infringes any rights of any other party, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or any other intellectual property rights;

  • The Submission must not contain materials which contain visible identifiable or potentially identifiable information, including but not limited to, phone numbers, website links, street addresses, email addresses or license plate numbers;

  • The Submission must not disparage The Centre for Sports and Exercise, The University of Hong Kong or any other person or party;

  • The Submission must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, tortious, defamatory, slanderous, or libelous;

  • The Submission must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred, or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age;

  • The Submission must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations of Hong Kong or of any jurisdiction where Submission is created;

  • The Submission must be consistent with the image and values of The Centre for Sports and Exercise and be consistent with and satisfy the purpose of the Contest.
