A team captain can invite a maximum of 4 other people to join to the team.

No offensive names or language should be used as team name or username. The Centre for Sports and Exercise retains the right to delete any user account if they deem it necessary and appropriate without giving any explanation.

Participants can join anytime in the event period and are only allowed to register one account on which all the accumulative steps will be recorded.

Members need to use the HKU Walking App in combination with a compatible Android or Apple smartphone to record their daily step count. Other means (such as pedometers, wrist activity trackers or any preferred mobile app) to record the daily step count needs to be approved by the organization prior to joining the Walking Challenge.

Steps will be calculated and tabulated starting from the 1st of April and ending on the 30th of April.

Participation in the event is entirely at your own risk and, by entering the event, participants acknowledge that the Centre for Sports and Exercise shall not be liable for death, injury, loss or damage arising from participation in this challenge.

The Centre for Sports and Exercise retains the right to ask for additional proof if the step count results are deemed questionable and subtract questionable entries or exclude participants from joining if deemed necessary and appropriate without giving any explanation.

Winners will be informed of their prize details at the email address registered on their HKU Walking Challenge App account. The email (“Confirmation Email”) along with valid identification (passport, HKID, UID) is needed for the winner to redeem the prize in person. Although we encourage all to participate all winners must have at least one member affiliated to the University of Hong Kong (staff/student/alumni). Proof of such affiliation maybe required)

If you fail to claim the prize within the time-limit or fail to comply with any other instructions or time-limits notified to you or provide us with incorrect or fraudulent information, you will forfeit your right to the prize.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances, we may alter, amend or cancel the competition without prior notice. We reserve the right to change these terms at any time.

The Centre for Sports and Exercise retains the right to refuse a reward if they deem it necessary and appropriate without giving any explanation. Rewards are also subject to availability with no cash alternatives to rewards.
