HKU Walking Challenge Photo Hunt - Terms & Conditions

For participants 18 years and over: By submitting an entry for the Walking Challenge Instagram post, I certify that I have read and accept the terms and conditions for participation in this event. 

  

For participants under 18 years: By submitting an entry for the HKU Walking Challenge Instagram post, I certify that I am the parent/guardian of this participant who is under 18 years old, and I give my consent for them to participate in this event. I accept the terms and conditions for participation in this event on behalf of the entrant and declare them capable of completing the required distance of this event. 

  1. All participants must be part of The University of Hong Kong community in order to compete for the prizes of the event.  
     

  2. The submission of participation entries will be accepted from April 1st, 2024, until April 30th, 2024. Participants posting photos on Instagram are only allowed to use one account on which all their photos will be recorded. 
     

  3. To complete the challenge, participants should be related to HKU (staff, students, alumni, retiree, family/friends of the above), as judged by the organizer, will win prizes. 
     

  4. Prizes are also subject to availability with no cash alternatives. 
     

  5. Participants need to upload a photo or screenshot of their upload details as proof of their HKU Walking Challenge Instagram post. False or incomplete entries will be considered invalid. 
     

  6. By submitting an entry for the HKU Walking Challenge Instagram post, participants consent to receiving information about the HKU Walking Challenge Instagram post and special offers and promotions. 
     

  7. CSE reserves the right to request participants to provide further proof of age, identity, and Instagram post entry submissions as they deem necessary. If participants fail or refuse to provide the requested information, CSE reserves the right to cancel the entry and/or participation of the participant.  
     

  8. Participants consent to the use of their name, result, image, photographs, video, and comments in any publications and marketing in relation to this event by event organizers. 
     

  9. Participants declare that they are physically fit and capable of participating in this event and completing the required distance. They are not aware of any medical condition or impairment that will prevent their participation in this event or affect their health by participating. 
     

  10. Participants acknowledge that they will participate and complete the photos in a manner chosen by them, and at their own risk. 
     

  11. Participants acknowledge that this is a virtual walking event and that CSE will not provide volunteers, marshals, or medical personnel assistance to any participant.   
     

  12. CSE is not liable for any damage, loss, or disappointment suffered by participants for taking part or not being able to take part in this HKU Walking Challenge Photo Hunt. 
     

  13. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, we may alter, amend, or cancel the competition without prior notice. CSE reserves the right to change these terms at any time. 
     

  14. Employees and family members of CSE Health & Fitness will not be eligible to receive any prizes from this event. 

Submission Guidelines:

  1. All photos must be original, meaning you may only enter photographs that you took and for which you own the copyright. 
     

  2. Photo submissions may be in horizontal or portrait format.  
     

  3. Photos must be submitted in JPEG, GIF, PNG, or TIFF format. Non-digital formats are not accepted. 
     

  4. The Centre for Sports and Exercise reserves the right to crop photos. 
     

  5. Digitally manipulating photos (i.e. cloning, compositing, etc.) should be kept to a minimum. Your photograph must authentically depict the setting as you saw it when you took the photograph. HDR, panoramic and stitched photos are permitted. 
     

  6. The Centre for Sports and Exercise reserves the right to make minor alterations to photo titles and descriptions for the purpose of correcting grammatical and spelling mistakes, etc.

Content Restrictions:​

  1. The Submission must not contain material that violates or infringes any rights of any other party, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or any other intellectual property rights; 
     

  2. The Submission must not contain materials which contain visible identifiable or potentially identifiable information, including but not limited to, phone numbers, website links, street addresses, email addresses or license plate numbers; 
     

  3. The Submission must not disparage The Centre for Sports and Exercise, The University of Hong Kong or any other person or party; 
     

  4. The Submission must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, tortious, defamatory, slanderous, or libelous; 
     

  5. The Submission must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred, or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age; 
     

  6. The Submission must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations of Hong Kong or of any jurisdiction where Submission is created; 
     

  7. The Submission must be consistent with the image and values of The Centre for Sports and Exercise and be consistent with and satisfy the purpose of the Contest.
